Boulevard Trees

Scenario: Beautiful, mature boulevard tree provides cool shade to your home, a nice leafy view, and a sound buffer from the road beyond.

Problem: City or forestry workers prune back the tree so much that it no longer shades your house/apt., leaving your living room hot and requiring you to employ air conditioning. Not only that but the view is now of the busy (and loud) road in front of your house.

Solution: First review the Forestry department’s reasoning for how and why they trim boulevard trees (and to learn how to plant additional trees) HERE. Then contact the Forestry department and share your concern (example, in St Paul the office # is (651) 632-5129; if your city/town doesn’t have a forestry department look into the Natural Resources department or Parks & Rec; still no dice? Then call your town hall office).
