Today an annual historic Minnesota event takes place up north. “It’s the longest sled dog race in the lower 48 states. World class-mushers including Susan Butcher, Jamie Nelson, John and Jason Baron have competed in the nearly 400 mile event,” according to the race page. This is the Bear Grease Sled Dog Race. Some of the contestants today go on to Iditarod – The Last Great Race.
