Join MCEA and other environmental organizations as we celebrate Earth Day at the following events:

 

Protect MN from the Frac Sand Industry  

What: Land Stewardship Project invites you to attend a press conference and a presentation to Governor Dayton of 6,000 signatures to protect MN from the frace sand industry.

Where: State Capitol, Room 181

When: Press Conference begins at 12:00 pm

MN Clean Energy and Jobs Rally

What: See Congresswoman Better McCullom, State Sen. John Marty, State Rep. Melissa Hortman, Will Steger, and business, faith, environmental and union leaders call for a better, cleaner economy and environment for Minnesota.

Where: State Capitol Rotunda

When: Rally begins at 4:00 pm

Earth Day “Happy Hour” at Fulton Brewery

What: Fulton Brewery is opening their taproom to celebrate Earth Day. $2 from each pint sold will go toward trees to be planted in the North Loop. While you’re there you can learn about the Slow Food movement, sign up for a CSA, and learn about the great work of our fellow environmental organizations, Friends of the Mississippi River and the Forest Stewardship Council.

When: 3:00 – 10:00 pm

Minnesota’s Climate Solutions

What: Hear from both Gary Botzek, executive director of Minnesota Conservation Federation, about wildlife habitat in a warming world, and Fresh Energy’s science policy director, J. Drake Hamilton, about the progress Minnesota has made in growing clean energy jobs.

Where: Saint Stephen Lutheran Church, Bloomington

When: Wednesday, April 23rd, 6:00 – 7:00 pm

Earth Day in the City

What: An annual tradition of the Mississippi River Gorge Cleanup

Where: E. 36th St. & E. 44th St. at W. River Pkwy, Mississippi River Gorge, Minneapolis

When: Saturday, April 26th, 2:00 – 4:00 pm
