Find an arbor celebration near you . . .

*The state’s Arbor Month Celebration will be held in Minneapolis 8–10 a.m. May 14, 2015 @ Stewart Park, 2700 S 12th Ave., Minneapolis 55407. About 1,300 school children will help plant over 150 trees, appearance by Elmer, performance by In the Hearth of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre.

Keller Regional Park, Golfview Picnic Shelter #4, on Highway 61, ½ mile north of Frost Avenue
Sat., May 16
Time: 11 a.m. to noon
Come try solving the mystery of “The Case of the Missing Elm Grove.” Start at Golfview Picnic Shelter and walk the trail (about 1/3 mile) to the location of the long-gone grove. Brief 11:30 a.m. ceremony at the old grove site. Stay after for educational opportunities.

Moorhead

1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Volunteers needed to help plant, mulch and water trees along the Red River. Dress for the weather and wear long pants, closed toed shoes, and gloves that can get muddy. Contact Jessica of River Keepers at jessica@riverkeepers.org to participate.

9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Celebrate Arbor Month & The Legacy of the American Elm

St. Paul Arbor Day Ceremony
Thursday, May 21st 2015
3:00 PM
Highland Park Elementary (1700 Saunders Avenue).
Join St. Paul Natural Resources for a brief ceremony outdoors (weather permitting) where there will be an introduction, kid’s tree poems, award presentation, and plant a tree on school grounds in honor of the student, Kate, who won the 2015 school poster contest (see below). More Arbor Month and Great American Elm celebration info. to come!
Location: Linwood Recreation Center 860 Saint Clair Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105

St. Paul Arbor Celebration
Sat., May 30th
10 a.m –2 p.m.
The celebration will include information tables on the story of the elms, other tree-related activities and demonstrations, activities for kids including tree climbing, climbing wall, nature play area, a bounce house, and planting a variety of disease-tolerant elm trees in the park.
