Little Explorers: A is for Animal Babies
10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Help your little one learn through play! With stories, activities and a craft, our smallest visitors discover the great outdoors. This special program is designed for children ages 3-6 and their adults. This week, explore the world of animal babies. Meet at the park visitor center. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Nature Explorations: Wild Wednesday Junior Naturalist Programs
1-2:30 Meet at the picnic tables by the beach area for a different nature program every other Wednesday in June, July and August. These programs are designed for children aged 5-15, but all are welcome. We will be exploring topics like frogs and toads, insects, fish, and more. Prairie Pre-School
10:30 a.m. This outdoor learning program is for children ages 2-6 yrs (ages more like guidelines than rules) and seeks to provide them with an engaging outdoor experience. This program is ideal for young learners and parents with love of nature, the natural sciences, and outdoor explorations! Lesson 1: Being safe outside and forest habitats! Stargazing
9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Local amateur astronomer Joe Hauger will be at the park Friday June 15 for a stargazing night. Come see the setting slender crescent moon, Jupiter, Venus, and a peek at Saturn rising in the east through a telescope, and learn some of the basic summer constellations. Start time: Sunset or approximately 9:00 pm at the Yellow Medicine River Confluence (a short drive to the north of the Yellow Medicine River Campground). Bio Blitz!
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Spend your morning identifying as many plant species as possible at Cherry Grove Blind Valley SNA. This is a great way to join others interested in learning to identify native plants, and you’ll have a chance to check out the interesting geology of this natural area. The results from this survey will go directly in to creating a species list for the site. Plant experts willing to help lead would be welcome, please contact Madison (see below). Note: the site has no facilities. Dress for the weather and doing survey work on variable terrain (wet to rocky). Bring a lunch with plenty of water. ROSEFEST!!
Rosefest celebrates the community traditions of health and wellness, arts and entertainment, fun and fresh air for people of all ages in the City of Roseville.

Friday, June 22
Run/Roll for the Roses Pre-Race Check-In: Volunteers are needed pre-event for handing out race packets. Shifts are 2 to 4 hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 23

Run/Roll for the Roses: Saturday/event day, shifts start at 6:30 or 7:15 a.m. and finish no later than 9:45 a.m. We are especially in need of adult volunteers who can assist with traffic control. Other duties include water stations and finish line tasks.

Monday, June 25
Rosefest Parade: Volunteers get a “behind the scenes” look and play a critical role in assuring the continued success of Roseville’s annual parade. This fun, and much anticipated event, utilizes volunteers in a number of roles, including serving on the committee that is busy planning and preparing for the event, and individuals and groups who can carry banners during the parade.
