Weeknight Hike — Cedar Lake
7:00pm Hosted by the Rovers Club. Join me for the last in the series of hikes around the city lakes … this week is Cedar Lake. We’ll meet at 7:00 p.m. at the parking lot by Cedar Lake Point Beach (2101 Cedar Lake Parkway, Minneapolis). There’s a small pay-for-parking lot plus free on-street parking on West 21st Street or Drew Avenue South. Membership not required for this day trip. May 31-June 3

Volunteer Event: Trail Maintenance — BWCAW, Pine Lake, MN $$$
$30 Volunteer Event. Thursday evening (31st) the crew will drive up to McFarland Campground and stay overnight. Friday the crew will pick up the Forest service gear and canoes, then paddle to a campsite on Pine Lake. We’ll setup a base camp and spend the rest of the day trail clearing on the BRT West towards Gogebic Lake. Trail clearing will continue on Saturday and the crew will paddle out and return home on Sunday (3rd). Tree Planting in Treasured City Park
Crosby Farm Regional Park is the largest natural park in Saint Paul with 736 acres of floodplain forests, wooded slopes in oak forest/savanna, and natural wetlands. The park is located in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and also has an extensive trail system which is connected to Fort Snelling State Park and other parks. The event site is an additional extension area, east of Interstate Highway 35E along the Mississippi River corridor. Volunteers will help plant native shrubs and trees seedlings on uneven terrain to enhance the floodplain terrain and natural habitat for wildlife. Light snacks and lunch will be provided! All ages welcome, children must be supervised. Partners & Funders: City of Saint Paul, Capitol Region Watershed District, Outdoor Heritage Fund, and RBC Blue Water Fund

Rugged Day Hike Up North on National Trails Day!
8:00am – 9:00pm Celebrate the National Trails System’s 50th Anniversary on National Trails Day, Saturday, June 2, with a long day hike on the rugged trails of Jay Cooke State Park. If you’ve never hiked Jay Cooke, you are in for a treat as it offers a unique landscape and some of the most scenic views this side of Beaver Bay. National Trails Day Bike Ride — Lake Minnetonka Trail, MN $$$
10:00am – 3:00pm $16. Celebrate National Trails Day by biking the Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail! Stretching 15 miles between Hopkins and Carver Park, this aggregate trail offers scenic views of Lake Minnetonka and passes through several small towns, including Excelsior and Victoria. More info
