MN Nature in St Paul, Minnesota, provides inspiring ways to get outdoors. Take the snowshoe, for example. Yea, it’s necessary if you’re on a winter adventure up in this northland but it’s also a fun way to mix up your daily hike experience.
Here’s the great thing about #MNnature, we’re not just sharing rec activities, volunteer opportunities, and conservation resources from one organization. We cover as much as we can across the entire state!

In Minnesota the icy frigid landscape offers a unique photography experience. You can capture it while behind a musher team, while snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding or downhill skiing, sledding, ice skating, ice fishing, winter hiking, winter camping, or sipping a hot coco (spiked with peppermint schnapps, ahem).
The opportunities are boundless, so let’s get out and explore! Here’s a video to inspire you. The sounds and imagery will transport you to the solace of the great Boundary Waters–a pristine place that Minnesotans cherish and that is currently being endangered by nearby mining interests:
If you’re so inclined, you may want to look into sites that want to protect this unique place for generations to come. Check out Save the Boundary Waters. They are leading the effort to protect the BWCA from sulfide-ore copper mining–the most current threat to the clear waters and consumable, clean fish known to the region.

“Horse Nation of the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ” explores how horses shape the history, spirituality, and culture of the Dakhóta, Nakhóta, and Lakȟóta (Dakota, Nakota, and Lakota) people, collectively known as the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Seven Council Fires). This exhibition is part of a larger look at Horse Nation, including exhibitions at All My Relations Gallery (June 7–October 8) and Two Rivers Gallery (July 2–October 19).
