Mountain bikers, 1-2-Go!!

MOCA (Minneapolis Off-Road Cycling Advocates), MORC (Minnesota Off Road Cyclists), and the MPRB (Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board) invite you to a special opening ride at Theodore Wirth Regional Park’s newest section of sustainable mountain bike trail. We are in need of riders to compact the trail and get it ready for riding. This will help shape the final trail tread before native plant restoration begins later this fall. Fatbikes are encouraged if you have one; otherwise bring your favorite mountain bike. The loop is a little less than 1 mile in length, includes many rollers, tabletops, bermed corners, and is constantly rolling up and down one of the largest hills in the Park.

Even if you don’t ride, we’d like you to be there to check out the area and learn a few things about mountain biking and sustainable trails.

Time and Location: Meet at the NW corner of Theodore Wirth Parkway and Glenwood Ave on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. The event starts at 5:00pm. Check the MORC website for any cancellations due to rain. Everyone is welcome.
