Per a letter from Nicholas Guy to the editor of the Winona Post Native American’s are taking a stand to oppose “fracking, sand mining, and oil lines,” citing chiefly pollution and longterm and/or indefinite destruction of land, water, air, and other natural resources as well as treaty “backtracking.”
“The tribal governments have chosen to protect our communities and oppose all fracking on our lands. We are using numerous treaties to make a stand to keep Keystone and related drilling interests off tribal lands.”
